Two double-decker buses collided in Jurong West, Singapore, leaving several people injured on Sunday morning.
A witness told 8world, a Chinese-language news outlet, that the crash occurred near Block 425 on Jurong West Avenue 1 just before 11:00 a.m., and that there were injuries among the passengers.
When reporters from The Straits Times arrived around 12:30 p.m., police had already cordoned off the crash site, and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) personnel were on scene. Some of the casualties were receiving aid inside a shelter near an HDB block, and one person was seen being carried to an ambulance on a stretcher.
Gao, 63, who witnessed the aftermath at about 11:30 a.m., told ST that three passengers were receiving attention: two lying on a grassy patch and another near a pavilion.
Rosie Lian, 71, was at a nearby coffee shop when she heard the loud crash at about 11:00 a.m. She later went to the scene and saw numerous injured individuals, including an elderly woman with a nosebleed and a man with a bandaged head.
Peh Li, 72, who heard the crash from her HDB flat in Block 425, also reported seeing an elderly man bleeding from the mouth and a family of four seated on the grass with facial and leg injuries.
Photos from the scene show one bus with a severely damaged front windshield and shattered glass, while the rear window of the other bus is also broken. A bus door pane is visible along the roadside.
At the site, authorities had at least three police cars, two ambulances, two SCDF vehicles, and two tow trucks.
At 12:18 p.m., Tower Transit, the bus operator, posted on Facebook acknowledging an incident involving service 98. They stated that affected passengers are receiving medical assessment and care, emphasizing that safety and well-being are their top priorities.
