Aladdin Pantomime Review: Bedworth Civic Hall Stuns with Magic and Laughter (2026)

I was blown away by the spectacle of Aladdin at Bedworth's Civic Hall. Having set the bar high with their previous Christmas production, PR Productions didn't disappoint. They've crafted a pantomime that's so extraordinary, it's like nothing you've seen before. But here's the twist: it's not just the special effects or the dazzling performances that make this show so memorable. It's the unexpected, the innovative, and the truly magical moments that will leave you in awe. The story itself is a familiar tale, but PR Productions has given it a unique twist, adding a second genie and a host of other surprises. The performances were exceptional, with Rhia Barrett delivering a brave and wonderful portrayal of Aladdin. The cast was filled with talented actors, including BBC star Mina Anwar as the Genie of the Ring and Craig Garner as the Genie of the Lamp, both bringing a touch of class and debonair charm to their roles. The villain, Abanaza, played by Rob Hiatt, was so menacing that the audience booed him before he even spoke. The supporting cast, including Paul Gibson as Widow Twankey and Guy Spreadborough as Wishee Washee, were equally impressive, with Gibson's comedic timing and Spreadborough's heartwarming performance winning over the crowds. The choreography and stage setting were equally impressive, with digital scenes seamlessly transporting the audience from Egypt to the laundry. The script, penned by Paul Gibson and Rob Hiatt, was witty and engaging, with belly-laugh-inducing gags and one-liners. The original score, composed by Andy Mackereth, added to the overall magic of the production. This Aladdin is a must-see, and with tickets selling fast, you won't want to miss out. So, if I had three wishes, one would be for everyone to experience this genie-ous production. Don't miss out on the chance to see this spectacular show before Christmas Eve! *Tickets for the show, which runs until Christmas Eve, can be booked online here (https://www.prproductions.biz/).
